Day 22 - God Has A High Regard For A Christian In Humble Financial Circumstances
"The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position." (James 1:9-11)
I think there is a distinction that needs to be made here between just being poor and being in humble circumstances. A wrong attitude towards money can be present whether one is poor or wealthy, however, "humble circumstances" almost suggests a form of voluntary poverty or a choice to live simply. According to Ken Blanchard, “People
with humility don’t think less of themselves, they just think of themselves
less," which applies to those who choose to think more of others by living in humble circumstances.
