Day 9 - Understand Riches Can Deceive You
(Jesus Said) "Watch Out! Be on your guard against all kids of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions" (Luke 12:15)
While I worship a generous God who provides everything I could ever need in life, I get concerned about a "Prosperity Theology" that suggests God's provision is primarily concerned with having an "abundance of possessions." Jesus was born in a stable, supported by his followers and had no place to call home, yet He tells us not to worry about what we eat, or drink, or wear, because if we "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness" God will take care of the rest.
